The Chamberlayne/McIlwaine house is a 4,300 square foot Federal-style home located in Petersburg's Historic Folley Castle Neighborhood at 416 W. Washington Street. It was once owned by the Rev. Dr. Churchill Gibson Chamberlayne, who was the founder of St. Christopher's School in Richmond in 1911. It has also been the home of Archibald Graham McIlwaine who, along with many other members of his family, have been the owners of other significant historic homes in Petersburg.
